 The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is an agricultural subsidies program of the European Unioni established in 1963. The CAP was founded to creat a unified market for agricultural products in the EU, to ascertain financial solidarity, to maintain community preference, and to institute equal incomes for farmers and reasonable food prices for consumers. Many reforms have been made over time to adapt to a changing economy and an enlarged European Union.
